A new documentary about the dearly departed rock star uses his own words to tell his own story. In an asap podcast, JAIME HOLGUIN talks to the filmmakers about the process of making the movie.
For someone whose music was known all over the world and whose career is so fully documented, Kurt Cobain's speaking voice is relatively unknown.
Sure there are MTV appearances and videotaped interviews, but there's very little documentation that features him candidly speaking at length about his personal life, music and drug abuse.
The most complete and intimate interviews Cobain gave were to music journalist Michael Azerrad, who befriended the rock icon during his research for the book "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana." Based on those interviews, a new documentary offers audiences a chance to finally hear Cobain tell his life story in his own voice.
In this asap podcast, JAIME HOLGUIN talks to Azerrad and director AJ Schnack about their new film which aims to reintroduce people to the rock icon.
