Tegan and Sara Quin talk. A lot.
The poptastic duo is back with a new record: 'The Con.' In a video report, the sisters Quin tell CARYN BROOKS about how 'The Con' might fit into your favorite overwrought coming-of-age movie.
Tegan and Sarah talk. A lot.
Tegan and Sara Quin have an unusually active pop-punk gene spooling through their DNA. Jagged guitars, sing-a-long choruses, mountainous metaphors, angular harmonies and knuckle-tapping beats seem to burst from their cells. As does a back-and-forth banter that's most likely a lot funnier than your own sibling cross-jesting.
Their self-penned songs mine influences as varied as Brit pop, post-punk, Fairport Convention-blessed folk and New Wave while building a catalog that's all their own.
The Canadian twin sisters' last record, "So Jealous," was a masterpiece of catchiness. And now, their much anticipated new release, "The Con," is slated to hit the streets (legally, that is) on July 24.
In a video report, asap asks the sisters Quin about the best parts of their new record. Like, which song would work best in a Zach Braff flick?
