If you built it, you can come: Welcome to the Maker Faire, where frivolity is the mother of all inventions. RON HARRIS caught it all for this asap video.
SAN MATEO, Calif.
You wanna make something of it?
There are folks who just aren't satisfied with the stuff you can buy that was invented and manufactured by someone else.
No one makes a colossal human-powered nose picker, for instance.
Silicon-chip sensitive theremin/guitar hybrid? Nope.
And what's a guy gotta do to get a lung-powered marshmallow shooter around here?
All of the above can be found at Maker Faire, where just about everything is something you've never seen before. The event is put on by Make magazine, which offers guidance for similar projects for folks with a little know-how and time on their hands.
Ron Harris caught all the weirdness at the 2nd annual Maker Faire at the San Mateo Expo Center.
