How much do you know about the major faiths of the world? HILLARY RHODES goes out on the street to quiz strangers.
Stephen Prothero thinks you might not know much about religion.
In his new book, "Religious Literacy," the chair of Boston University's religion department posits that America is full of religious people who don't even know the basic facts.
"Here religious ignorance is bliss," he says.
The book came to us with a Religious Literacy IQ test, so we walked around New York City's Times Square to see if he was right. Here are some other questions from the quiz that we didn't get to ask:
"Where, according to the Bible, was Jesus born?"
"What is the name of the holy book of Islam?"
"Name the Four Noble Truths of Buddhism."
To find the answers, read the book (or look them up online). According to Prothero, this is just the beginning of what every American citizen should know.
