Will every shop exist virtually and be accessible by everyone on the planet one day?

Business executives converged at the first-ever Virtual Worlds Conference at the Jewish Heritage Museum in New York to discuss just that -- and discover how they can virtually open for business, if they haven't already.

Over the past year, interactive three-dimensional virtual realms featuring customizable avatars and environments, such as "Second Life" and "There," have gone from niche to nearly mainstream.

With real currency, limitless sponsorship opportunities and one very curious audience, corporations both big and small are frantically attempting to figure out how to successfully download a slice of all this virtual action.

However, simply virtually setting up shop might not be enough.
