First in a series of our favorite things: A jacket that lets you mimic mountain climbers to stay comfy during cold-weather workouts.

Pity previous generations who had nothing to wear during cold-weather exercise besides the bulky, stifling sweat shirt.
No matter how cold you are at the beginning of your workout, that hoodie is going to smother you in clammy heat by the time you're done moving and perspiring. Wear one for a game of touch football, and lock yourself into a crude temperature-regulation scheme of taking it off and putting it back on.
Thank goodness for modern, breathable fabrics and the crazy mountain climbers who inspired them. The synthetic materials are adaptable enough to keep athletes warm without making them uncomfortably hot. Our grasp of this technology is pretty loose, but we're told has something to do with sentient jacket molecules that hold microscopic fans in their tiny, amoeba-like hands. (OK, not really.)
You don't really need to understand materials called "Gore Endeavor Windstopper N2S" and "Pursuit P-400S" to appreciate the comfort of the Marmot Evolution Half Zip pullover. Nor do you have to be a mountain climber.
The jacket works great for golf games, weekend jogs, touch football -- or any outdoor exercise in cold weather. Whether the temperature dips to 40 or rises to 80 degrees, you'll be feeling great. You don't even have to be an athlete -- in autumn weather, the pullover will keep you from shivering on the sidewalk but won't make you sweat on the subway.
The only thing this jacket won't do is run your errands.
