Think your reporting could have been much better. The five missionaries were not found in shallow graves - they had been thrown in the Curaray River. Ed McCully's body, first found by some Quechua Indians, floated on down the river before the Indians could bring the military expedition back to retrieve it. It was never found again. The other four men were buried in a mass grave by the military - not the Indians.
Rachel Saint, while doing some translation work with Dayuma, had not "tried to make contact" prior to the men's deaths. As a matter of fact, Nate specifically did not want his sister to know what the men were up to because he feared she would halt their activity.
Minor details - but, if you can't be trusted to accurately report the minor details, why should I believe anything else that was written.
